Coming soon 2017…
December 15, 2015
Greetings Cyber Earthlings!
After a brief pause wherein I experimented with being a modern American, college educated “grown up lady”, I’m back. That shit is mad overrated. The system is fucked no matter how much energy and hard work you toss into it. Honestly, give it a go. Then get the hell out before you become a mediocre shell of the potential woman you feel constantly pulsating beneath your now too-thick skin.
Anyway, I am mostly optimistic and sending my inky children forth into the harsh world of submission guidelines again 🙂 I’ve been targeting online journals, short story contests, feminist blogs, natural hair care magazines, and independent poetry projects. 2016 will be the year of being a “real” writer again for me. I have created a corny inspiration/intention board and everything. I’m looking to join a book club or weekly public reading or whatever. I live in New York now and it’s time to act like it!
Here’s a place that recently accepted my words:
There’s more to come and I will update accordingly. Keep in touch!
A rare clip of the author publically reading from her first book, FFing, for the first time.
A friend that I met while teaching English abroad in Georgia asked me to read a bit of a poem by the poet Vazha Pshavela for the 150th annual celebration of his works.
Hello people of the internet!
from a dark and seemingly endless slumber.
She has rolled out of bed and into the bleeding new world of 2012. Welcome.
I’ve decided to take this blog and turn it primarily into a promotional hub for my writing and entertainment projects. All of the science inspired posts that you’ve randomly stumbled upon and which filled you no doubt with the joy of multiple nerdgasms have been removed. These experimental pieces will be featured in my next book of poetry, Roanoke, which I’m putting together as we type. I enjoyed working within the self set limits of writing that is constrained to certain themes. Exploring the universe through ink took me on a journey that opened the doors to parts of my mind that were long left dormant.
While I’m setting things up, feel free to explore the written works of yours truly. You can find my brain’s organized linguistic drainage at the following links.
Hey, maybe I’ll start updating this blog regularly again. Maybe I’ll close it down. Or maybe I’ll just revamp it and change the content. Until that decision has been made, click the link below and buy my first book of poetry please.
